Before you learn how to catch the black bass, first you should know where the black bass swim. In addition, having a brief background of the black bass can't hurt either. Smallmouth are sometimes called black bass, Bronzeback, Oswego bass, brown bass, Redeye, and the green trout. The largemouth bass are popularly known as black bass as well. Largemouth is also called lineside, bigmouth bass, and green bass.

Black bass come from the Micropterus Genus family of sunfish or freshwater fish. Smallmouth is also a Micropterus Dolomieu black bass. Black bass have green base lines that comprise dark patterns along the sides of their body. Black fish grow up to 24 inches, or over 3-feet.

How to find black bass:
Black bass are found in various parts of the world, including throughout the eastern Rocky Mountains. You will find black bass at Canada's basin, or Hudson Bay. The North East areas of Mexico have a variety of cosmopolitan black bass, smallmouth, and largemouth bass.
